Virale Exanthem (Viral exanthem) is een wijdverspreide huiduitslag die aan de buitenkant van het lichaam voorkomt en meestal bij kinderen voorkomt. Een exantheem kan worden veroorzaakt door gifstoffen, medicijnen of micro-organismen, of kan het gevolg zijn van een auto-immuunziekte. Veel voorkomende virussen kunnen huiduitslag veroorzaken als onderdeel van hun symptoom. Varicella zoster-virus (waterpokken of gordelroos) en de bof moeten voor de behandeling worden gecontroleerd.
